Uilleam Alba Mac Gafraidh

Uilleam Alba Mac Gafraidh is simply the Gaelic name for William Scott
Mc Cafferty. Uilleam was born in December 1977 to wonderful parents as a
premature baby. (this may explain why he always has to be on time for everything)
He has lived most of his life in West Central Scotland and is a former pupil of
Caldervale High School in
Airdrie.

Uilleam is married to
Chelsea and has been since 2005. Uilleam got saved at a Billy Graham mission in 1991 at
Celtic Park but did not seek proper counsel in his new walk with the Lord and found the world a far more
attractive proposition. In 2005 he fought his greatest battle of all, against alcohol and has been dry ever since.

Uilleam started off on the right foot by going to Sunday School at an early age at Chapelhall Gospel Hall in Airdrie.
He attended there until about 14 when he decided to join many of his school friends at
Caldercruix, Longriggend &
Meadowfield Parish church . Uilleam thought this was the church for him but he was not disciplined as a young
man and he moved around from church to church. He attended the
Kings Church in Motherwell from there he
moved on to
Airdrie Baptist Church and attended several churches in between. He then settled in at St Silas in
Glasgow until he had a motorcycle accident and stopped going to church completely. Uilleam also investigated the
Mormon faith but decided that was not the way to go. When he stopped going to church he was really involved
with several Christian organisations. He stewarded and counselled at
YFC events. He was a regular attender at
Lanarkshire Christian Union events, He had lots of scriptural knowledge and could answer many questions but
was still missing the most important thing of all.. A real meaningful relationship with Jesus. .

Uilleam is a keen sports fan who is a passionate fan of the well known Scottish football team
Dundee United. He
also loves Rugby Union and his favored team is
Glasgow Warriors. He enjoys also American Football and laments
the passing of the
Scottish Claymores, but gets his fix by watching his NFL team the Kansas City Chiefs.  He has
recently developed a liking for baseball and enjoys seeing the
Los Angeles Dodgers winning.

Uilleam re-committed his life back to the Lord and became a Christian for real in 2005. He was baptized in Loch
Lomond also in 2005 by Pastor Matt McGoldrick and until late 2007 he was a committed member of
Calvary
Chapel Glasgow in Partick. He now lives a solid Christian life with his wife Chelsea.

This picture was taken at Loch Lomond on the day of his Baptism. Uilleam is on the right with Pastor Matt
McGoldrick of
Calvary Chapel Glasgow on the left.

Uilleam's favourite bible verse is from Psalm 40:1-3

"I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of
an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, [and] established my goings. And he hath
put a new song in my mouth, [even] praise unto our God: many shall see [it], and fear, and shall trust in the
LORD. "
